This course is designed to be a self-guided journey into the exciting, engaging world of digital technologies. The course is broken up into 10 tasks that are meant to familiarize teachers with these technologies and to support personal and professional growth.
Each of these 10 tasks are hands-on activities where teachers will work with a particular technology tool, and produce a usable resource that can become an integeral part of the teachers' classroom practice. Each of these activites are designed to create a place where teachers learn, make mistakes, and explore in a safe and supportive environment.
There are 10 tasks that should be complete during the 11 week session. Each task should take approximently one hour.
Each week is orginized around a learning theme, all based on the five interdependent characteristics of meaningful learning environments as identified by : active, constructive, goal directed, authentic, and collaborative (Jonassen, Howland, Moore, & Marra, 2003)

Students are actively engaged in using technology as a tool rather than passively receiving information from the technolog
Collaborative
Students use technology tools to collaborate with others rather than working individually at all times.
Constructive
Students use technology tools to build understanding rather than simply receive information.
